Optical scintillation technology measures gas velocity using infrared light beams across a stack or duct without physical contact with the gas stream. Because it is non-intrusive and has no moving parts, it is inherently immune to the mechanical degradation and drift caused by extreme heat. Measurement accuracy is unaffected by temperature, pressure, gas density, moisture, or opacity changes, making it ideal for flare stacks and thermal oxidizers.
